Educators for Palestine Project

Educators for Palestine (E4P) is a project the working group launched in 2022. Our goals include political educating, organizing, and mobilizing education workers who want to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people and their heroic struggle for liberation. E4P was conceived because of the crucial role educators can play in the movement – in the classroom teaching, outside it advocating and agitating, and (for those in unions) as a significant portion (estimated at over 25%) of organized labor in the US.

The first E4P initiative was our series of workshops in July called,  “Learning Toward Liberation: Rooting Our Pedagogy of Palestine in Humanity and Justice.” You can view recordings of Session 2, a presentation on Palestinian history through a solidarity framework, and Session 4, a panel on navigating the pitfalls and backlash that often accompany educators’ teaching and advocacy on Palestine.

We look forward to coordinating future events and initiatives. In the near future, we will host a workshop with Dr. Sawson Jaber this fall (to replace her Learning Toward Liberation session we canceled to honor Eid al-Adha), and engage education worker unions that want to forward solidarity work in their organizations.

Keep an eye out for more info and events from E4P. This page will be updated as necessary.  Please consider joining the working group to get involved in future E4P work.
